Image/Text Project

Date:

April 2026

Media Type:

Graphic Design

Intention:

This project features the creation of an original image that incorporated text as method of engaging an audience. My project aimed to highlight how fashion can be political, and I created this project for fashion and political science students. I sought out this audience because I believed they may already have interest in this overlap, or to introduce them to a underrepresented form of protest.

Creation:

My image features a fashionable woman at the center of a protest, and a quote from fashion designer and activist, Vivienne Westwood. I created my image using Photopea, where I was able to layer and isolate elements of my image. Using the lasso select tool on Photopea, I traced along the outside of the girl to isolate that portion of the image, and layered her on top of the background photo. I used Midjourney to generate the girl at the focal point of my image, and the background image is one taken at the 2017 Women's March in Washington, D.C.
