Video Project

Date:

May 2026

Media Type:

IMovie and CapCut Video

Intention:

The Video Project seeks to inform my audience about the versatility of fashion protest. I chose to create a video that featured different fashion shows where Vivienne Westwood used her runway as a stage for her political activism. My video was intended for fashion students and students who identify with punk communities. I hoped to reach these communities by showcasing her blend of punk-rock protest and style, and how she used her voice to stand up for what she believed in.

Creation:

I created this video using IMovie and CapCut, as well as a video downloader to use clips of runway shows found on Youtube. By visiting  fashion archives, I found relevant fashion shows and outfits that fit the video. After researching shows that featured different looks and performances, I used IMovie to assemble and edit my video, and CapCut to add informational text. I kept the original background noise to stay true to Vivienne Westwoods creative direction, and included shows to highlight over 15 years of political activism and fashion protest.
